CBPartners’ Diversity Education Series: Talk 1
- This event has passed.
The first of CBPartners’ internal diversity education series talks will be a workshop, led by Erica Jones (Assistant Principal at the American School, London) on the topic of:
“Why aren’t more Black people getting inoculated?”: Interrogating the History & Legacy of Systemic Racism and Anti-Blackness in Healthcare
In honor of Black History Month, we will explore a brief history of healthcare access disparities in the African American population in the United States, and how these growing disparities have led to the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on Black people and communities of color in the United States, as well as in the United Kingdom.
We will also consider what organizations and policy forums, (like Kimberlé Crenshaw’s African American Policy Forum), are doing to move from awareness to action, in hopes of eradicating systemic barriers to equitable access and outcomes in healthcare for Black people.
This workshop will also include some time in breakout rooms to unpack these issues in small groups and reflect on how these topics impact our work at CBPartners.
